CANRIG top drive on-site major overhaul

In December 2025, a CANRIG top drive was withdrawn from a drilling platform and safely transported to the maintenance base of Shandong Shineway Company, about to begin a comprehensive, systematic overhaul lasting several weeks.

This overhaul is part of a preventive maintenance plan based on the equipment's operating hours and conditions. During the overhaul, a team of professional engineers will completely disassemble, thoroughly inspect, and precisely repair the top drive's core systems, including power, hydraulics, electrical components, and main structure. Key tasks will include replacing the bearings in the main drive system, upgrading the seals in hydraulic lines, and fully calibrating and testing the control system to eliminate wear and potential issues caused by long-term, high-intensity operation.

We will strictly follow manufacturing standards and overhaul procedures to ensure the equipment's performance is restored to like-new condition. This not only secures safe, efficient, and continuous drilling operations in the next phase but is also a necessary investment to extend equipment lifespan and optimize asset management.
